Certain limitations on proxies
78 Certain limitations on proxies
(1) If a person holds appointments as the proxy of 2 residents (or such other
number of residents as may be prescribed by the regulations) in any one
retirement village at any one time, any appointment of the person as proxy of
another resident of the village, while the person continues to hold the other
appointments, is void.
(2) Any appointment of a person as the proxy of a
resident of a retirement village after the commencement of this section-- (a)
may be revoked at any time by the appointor's giving notice in writing to the
person, and
(b) if it is not revoked, terminates-- (i) after the first
meeting at which it is exercised, or
(ii) if it is not exercised during the
period of 6 months immediately following the date on which the appointment is
made--on the expiry of that period.
(3) Nothing in this section prevents a
resident of a retirement village from reappointing a person as the resident's
proxy after the revocation or termination of such an appointment.
