TRANSPORT ADMINISTRATION ACT 1988 - SECT 45D
Acting Chief Investigator
(1) The Minister may, from time to time, appoint a person to act in the office
of the Chief Investigator during the illness or absence of the
Chief Investigator, and the person, while so acting, has all the functions of
the Chief Investigator and is taken to be the Chief Investigator.
(2) The
Minister may, at any time, remove any person from an office to which the
person was appointed under this section.
(3) A person while acting in the
office of the Chief Investigator is entitled to be paid such remuneration
(including travelling and subsistence allowances) as the Minister may from
time to time determine in respect of the person.
(4) For the purposes of this
section, a vacancy in the office of the Chief Investigator is to be regarded
as an absence from office of the Chief Investigator.
