Notice of making of interim declaration
21 Notice of making of interim declaration
(1) A senior police officer must cause notice of the making of an interim
declaration, and the date fixed for hearing any application for its
revocation, to be served on the owner or occupier of the premises the subject
of the interim declaration.
(2) The notice must be served- (a) personally, or
(b) if personal service cannot be effected promptly, by causing a copy of the
notice to be fixed to or near the entrance to the premises.
(3) A person must
not deface, destroy, cover or remove a copy of a notice fixed under this
section. : Maximum penalty-20 penalty units or imprisonment for 6 months (or
both).
(4) A senior police officer must also cause notice of the making of an
interim declaration, and the date fixed for the hearing of any application for
its revocation, to be published- (a) on 2 different days in a newspaper
circulating in the area of the premises the subject of the interim
declaration, and
(b) in the Gazette.
