WORKPLACE INJURY MANAGEMENT AND WORKERS COMPENSATION ACT 1998 - SECT 238C
Inspector may request assistance
238C Inspector may request assistance
(1) A police officer may accompany and take all reasonable steps to assist an
inspector in the exercise of the inspector's functions under this Act-- (a) in
executing a search warrant issued under section 238A, or
(b) if the inspector
reasonably believes that he or she may be obstructed in the exercise of those
functions.
(2) Any person whom an inspector believes to be capable of
providing assistance in the exercise of the inspector's functions under this
Act may accompany the inspector and take all reasonable steps to assist the
inspector in the exercise of the inspector's functions.
(3) Nothing in
subsection (1) is to be taken to limit the generality of section 71 of the
Law Enforcement (Powers and Responsibilities) Act 2002 .
