WORKPLACE INJURY MANAGEMENT AND WORKERS COMPENSATION ACT 1998 - SECT 74A
Duty of insurer to pay compensation promptly
(1) An insurer who admits liability to pay compensation must pay that
compensation promptly following the admission of liability.
(2) If the
Authority is satisfied that an insurer has failed to comply with this section,
the Authority may by notice in writing to the insurer direct the insurer to
pay the compensation concerned within a period specified in the direction.
(3) An insurer must comply with such a direction. : Maximum penalty--50
penalty units.
