Removal from office of Chancellor or Deputy Chancellor
14A Removal from office of Chancellor or Deputy Chancellor
(1) The Board may remove the Chancellor or a Deputy Chancellor from office by
a no confidence motion passed in accordance with this section if it considers
it in the best interests of the University to do so.
(2) The removal from
office may be effected only if the no confidence motion is supported by at
least a two-thirds majority of the total number of members for the time being
of the Board at two consecutive ordinary meetings of the Board.
(3) The
Chancellor or Deputy Chancellor may be removed from office under this section
despite section 32G (6) and without the need to establish any breach of duty.
(4) This section applies to the Chancellor and each Deputy Chancellor holding
office on the commencement of this section and all subsequent holders of those
offices.
