Presumptions about age and language
9L Presumptions about age and language
(1) In any proceedings it is presumed, if there is no evidence to the
contrary, that the age specified in a statement is in fact the age of the
person who made the statement at the time the statement was made.
(2) In any
proceedings it is presumed, if there is no evidence to the contrary, that the
language in which a written statement or an endorsement is written is a
language of which the person who made the statement or endorsement has a
reasonable understanding.
(3) In any proceedings it is presumed, if there is
no evidence to the contrary, that the English translation of a statement or
part statement is an accurate translation of the statement or part.
