(1) A driver, rider or passenger must not, while in or on a vehicle, use a device to make a sound like the sound of a siren.
(2) This rule does not apply if--(a) the vehicle is a police vehicle or an emergency vehicle, or(b) the vehicle is approved by Transport for NSW to use the device for a purpose approved by Transport for NSW, or(c) the vehicle is being used by Transport for NSW, or a police officer, for law enforcement purposes,(d) the vehicle is being used by an officer of the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator for law enforcement purposes.
: Maximum penalty--20 penalty units.
