(1) This clause applies if a safety sign is required to control an identified risk in relation to using, handling, generating or storing hazardous chemicals at a workplace.
(2) A person conducting a business or undertaking at the workplace must display a safety sign at the workplace to--(a) warn of a particular hazard associated with the hazardous chemicals, or(b) state the responsibilities of a particular person in relation to the hazardous chemicals.: Maximum penalty--(a) in the case of an individual--70 penalty units, or(b) in the case of a body corporate--345 penalty units.
(3) The person must ensure that the safety sign is--(a) located next to the hazard, and(b) clearly visible to a person approaching the hazard.
(4) In this clause,
"safety sign" does not include a placard.
