Issue of duplicate licences and certificates

7 Issue of duplicate licences and certificates

(1) The Director-General may, on application made to the Director-General and accompanied by a fee of $31, issue a duplicate licence or certificate of registration in the place of a licence or certificate of registration that has been lost, destroyed or damaged.
(2) The Director-General may decline to issue a licence or certificate of registration in the place of one that has been damaged if the application is not accompanied by the damaged licence or certificate, or so much of it as is available.
(3) The Director-General may dispense with production of a damaged licence or certificate.
(4) The Director-General must endorse on each duplicate licence or certificate issued a notice that the licence or certificate is a duplicate licence or certificate.
(5) A person to whom a duplicate licence or certificate is issued must, if the licence or certificate for which the duplicate licence or certificate was issued comes into the person's possession, surrender the duplicate licence or certificate to the Director-General.
Maximum penalty (subclause (5)): 20 penalty units in the case of a corporation or 10 penalty units in any other case.
