The Legislative Assembly of the Northern Territory enacts as follows:

Part 1 Preliminary matters
1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the Public Holidays Amendment Act 2016.

Part 2 Amendment of Public Holidays Act
2 Act amended

This Part amends the Public Holidays Act.

3 Section 4 amended

(1) Section 4(1), definition public holiday

Section 17, definition public holiday

public holiday means a day or part of a day specified in, or appointed under, the Public Holidays Act to be observed as a public holiday.

12 Section 28 amended

Section 28(2)

omit

all words from "a day" to "done, the"

insert

a public holiday in the place in which the thing is to or may be done (other than a public holiday that is part of a day), the

This Act expires on the day after it commences.
