Northern Territory Consolidated Acts Northern Territory Consolidated Acts(1) As soon as practicable after the results of an election have been determined, the Commission must publicly declare the results of the election and the name of the candidate returned as elected.
(2) However, if the successful candidate for election for a division dies after election day but before the declaration, the Commission must not declare the candidate returned as elected for the division.
(3) Subsection (2) applies despite sections 127 and 128(6).
