Northern Territory Consolidated Acts Northern Territory Consolidated Acts(1) An elector who is entitled to vote at an election must vote at the election unless the elector has a valid and sufficient reason for not voting.
Maximum penalty: 1 penalty unit.
(2) Without limiting subsection (1), an elector is taken to have a valid and sufficient reason for not voting at an election if the elector is precluded from voting because of the elector's religious beliefs.
