Northern Territory Consolidated Acts Northern Territory Consolidated Acts(1) The person holding office as the Chief Electoral Officer (the former office ) under the repealed Act immediately before the commencement date holds office as the Commissioner on the conditions on which the person held the former office until the earlier of the following:
(a) the person's term of appointment to the former office ends;
(b) a person is appointed Commissioner under section 314 of this Act.
(2) In an Act or document, a reference to the Chief Electoral Officer may, if the context permits, be taken to be a reference to the Commission or Commissioner as the case requires.
