ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION (BEVERAGE CONTAINERS AND PLASTIC BAGS) ACT 2011 - SECT 19

    (1)     The operator of an approved collection depot must pay a refund amount:

        (a)     for a permitted container the operator is required to accept under section 18(1); and

        (b)     to the person who delivered the container to the depot; and

        (c)     in accordance with subsection (3).

Maximum penalty:     50 penalty units.

    (2)     An offence against subsection (1) is an offence of strict liability.

    (3)     A refund amount for an empty permitted container must be paid in cash or in another way prescribed by regulation.
