Northern Territory Consolidated Acts Northern Territory Consolidated Acts(1) If a lawful occupier who has been served with a notice under section 45 fails to pay the rent in accordance with the notice, the Territory may recover the amount stated in the notice, or the part of it that remains unpaid, as a debt due to the Territory by the occupier.
(2) This section does not apply to a person who is in lawful occupation of an allotment for or on behalf of, or as an employee, agent or contractor of, the Territory or a local government council.
