ANIMAL PROTECTION ACT 2018 (NO 25 OF 2018) - SECT 72

Annual report – registered persons

    (1)     A registered person must give an annual report to the CEO in accordance with subsections (3) and (4) for each calendar year, or part of a calendar year, for which the person is registered.

Maximum penalty:     100 penalty units.

    (2)     An offence against subsection (1) is an offence of strict liability.

    (3)     The report must include:

    (a)     the following information in relation to the calendar year, or the part of the calendar year, to which it relates:

        (i)     prescribed information about the animals used, or allowed to be used, for scientific purposes;

        (ii)     prescribed information about the activities performed in connection with the registration;

        (iii)     prescribed information about any complaints received by the registered person in relation to those activities, including the steps taken by the registered person to deal with any such complaint and any outcome from a complaint achieved during the reporting period; and

    (b)     any other information prescribed by regulation.

    (4)     The registered person must give the annual report to the CEO within the later of:

    (a)     5 months after the end of the calendar year; or

    (b)     any longer period allowed by the CEO.
