Northern Territory Numbered Acts Northern Territory Numbered Acts(1) The Minister may, by Gazette notice:
(a) appoint a body corporate to be a race control body and determine its jurisdiction over the following:
(i) thoroughbred racing;
(ii) harness racing;
(iii) greyhound racing; and
(b) specify the race clubs over which a race control body exercises control; and
(c) specify the number of members of a race control body's governing board or committee.
(2) The Minister may appoint the Commission as the race control body for thoroughbred racing if:
(a) there is no suitable body corporate for this purpose; or
(b) the appointment of a body corporate as the race control body should be revoked for non-compliance with this Act.
(3) Subject to subsection (1)(a), the Commission is the race control body for harness racing and greyhound racing.
