An Act to amend the Holidays Act 1983 for particular purposes

The Parliament of Queensland enacts-- 1
Clause 1 Short title 2
This Act may be cited as the Holidays Amendment Act 2010. 3
Clause 2 Act amended 4
This Act amends the Holidays Act 1983. 5
Clause 3 Insertion of new ss 9 and 10 6
After section 8-- 7
insert-- 8
`9 Particular public holidays in 2010 9
`(1) Subsection (2) applies despite a gazette notice made by the 10
Minister under section 3 by which the Minister substituted 11
another day for a public holiday for Christmas Day in 2010. 12
Note-- 13
The Minister, by a gazette notice published on 28 August 2009, 14
substituted 28 December 2010 for a public holiday for Christmas Day. 15
`(2) Both of the following days are to be observed as public 16
holidays for Christmas Day in 2010-- 17
· 25 December 2010 18
· 28 December 2010. 19
`(3) To remove any doubt, it is declared that a reference in the 20
Industrial Relations Act 1999, or in an industrial instrument 21
under that Act, to a public holiday for Christmas Day is, for 22
2010, taken to include both of the following days-- 23
· 25 December 2010 24
· 28 December 2010. 25

`10 Particular public holidays in 2011 1
`(1) Both of the following days are to be observed as public 2
holidays for New Year's Day in 2011-- 3
· 1 January 2011 4
· 3 January 2011. 5
`(2) To remove any doubt, it is declared that a reference in the 6
Industrial Relations Act 1999, or in an industrial instrument 7
under that Act, to a public holiday for New Year's Day is, for 8
2011, taken to include both of the following days-- 9
· 1 January 2011 10
· 3 January 2011.'. 11
