APPROPRIATION (PARLIAMENT) BILL
             1996

                     EXPLANATORY NOTES

  An Appropriation Bill separate from the Appropriation Bill 1996 is
provided for the Parliament.
  Clause 1 provides for the short title of the Act.
   Clause 2.(1) authorises the Treasurer to issue from the consolidated fund
and apply for the services of the Parliament, the sum of $18,294,000 in the
financial year commencing 1 July 1996.
  Clause 2.(2) notes that this amount includes the appropriation already
authorised by the Appropriation (Parliament) Act 1995.
