Title of the Bill
Corrective Services Bill 2006
Reason for Erratum
The erratum is necessary to correct some errors in the explanatory notes to
ensure that the explanatory notes reflect the content of the Bill.
Notes on Provisions
For the fourth paragraph appearing on page 40, delete the word "sentence"
and replace it with "order". This amendment corrects a typographical
error.
For the fifth paragraph appearing on page 55, insert a space between "(b)"
and the word "in". This amendment corrects a typographical error.
For the first paragraph appearing on page 57, insert a space between "3."
and the word "A". This amendment corrects a typographical error.
For the fifth paragraph appearing on page 57, delete the word "toe" and
replace it with "the". This amendment corrects a typographical error.
For the seventh sentence in third paragraph appearing on page 59, delete
the word "any" and replace it with "an". This amendment corrects a
typographical error.

For the second last paragraph appearing on page 60, delete the words "for
the purposes of a strip search". This amendment corrects an error in the
explanatory notes and is necessary to ensure consistency with the Bill.
For the third last paragraph appearing on page 62, delete the word
"reasonable" and replace it with "reasonably". This amendment corrects a
typographical error.
For the second paragraph appearing on page 66, delete the words "the
read" so that the sentence reads "If the authorised officer reasonably
suspects that mail is not privileged, the officer must not read the prisoner's
privileged mail other than to establish its bona fides.". This amendment
corrects a typographical error.
For the fifth paragraph appearing on page 67, insert the word "services"
between corrective" and "officer" This amendment corrects a
typographical error.
For the seventh paragraph appearing on page 71, insert the word "order"
between "safety" and "was" This amendment corrects a typographical
error.
For the second sentence in the first paragraph appearing on page 72, delete
the space between the words "that" and the word "the". This amendment
corrects a typographical error.
For the second paragraph appearing on page 72, delete the words "and
although not bound by any recommendation, the chief executive must
consider them when making a decision". This amendment corrects an error
in the explanatory notes and is necessary to ensure consistency with the
Bill.
For the sixth sentence in the third last paragraph appearing on page 73,
insert the word "be" between the words "should" and "cancelled". This
amendment corrects a typographical error.
For the last line of the second paragraph appearing on page 90, delete the
word "an" and replace it with "and". This amendment corrects a
typographical error.
For the third last paragraph appearing on page 99, insert the word "officer"
between the words "services" and "may". This amendment corrects a
typographical error.
Remove the first paragraph appearing on page 105 and replace the
paragraph with " "Minor breach of discipline" means a breach of discipline

decided under section 113 to be proceed with as a minor breach of
discipline.". This amendment corrects a typographical error.
For the paragraph heading below the last paragraph appearing on page 106,
change the font for the words "Major breach of discipline" to Arial, not in
bold. This amendment corrects a typographical error.
For the second paragraph appearing on page 126, delete the word "guns"
and replace it with "gun" This amendment corrects a typographical error.
For the second last paragraph appearing on page 128, insert the word "the"
between the words "than" and "person" This amendment corrects a
typographical error.
For the fourth sentence in the second paragraph appearing on page 129,
delete the space between the words "and" and "the". This amendment
corrects a typographical error.
For point (b) in the fourth paragraph appearing on page 146, insert the
word "is" between "(b) and "serving". This amendment corrects a
typographical error.
For the fifth paragraph appearing on page 155, delete the words "1 July
2006" and replace them with "1 November 2006". This amendment
corrects a typographical error.
For the fifth line of the second paragraph appearing on page 162, delete the
words "15 June 2005" and replace them with "15 June 2009". This
amendment corrects a typographical error.
For the fifth line of the second paragraph appearing on page 162, delete the
words "14 June 2006" and replace them with "14 June 2010". This
amendment corrects a typographical error.
For the first paragraph appearing on page 164, at number 4, delete the full
stop after "State" and delete "The" and insert "the" between "State" and
"prisoner". This amendment corrects a typographical error.
For the second line of the second paragraph appearing on page 167, at
number 2 delete the word "that". This amendment corrects a typographical
error.
For the third paragraph appearing on page 168, delete the word "Bill" and
replace it with "Board". This amendment corrects a typographical error.
For the second line of Example number two in the second paragraph
appearing on page 171, delete the word "that". This amendment corrects a
typographical error.

For the second paragraph appearing on page 173, insert a space between
the words "A" and "board". This amendment corrects a typographical
error.
For the fourth paragraph appearing on page 179 , insert after the word
"decisions." ," These procedures do not include procedures relating to the
administration of the public service. Example- A procedure about human
resources or financial matters." This amendment clarifies which
procedures are being referred to in the section.
For the first paragraph appearing on page 186, at (c) delete the word
"recommendation" and replace it with "recommendations". This
amendment corrects a typographical error.
For the first paragraph appearing on page 188, at 1., delete the words
"appointed to the facility" after "officer". This amendment corrects an error
in the explanatory notes and is necessary to ensure consistency with the
Bill.
For the first paragraph appearing on page 188, at 1., delete the word
"appointed" and replace it with "assigned". This amendment corrects an
error in the explanatory notes and is necessary to ensure consistency with
the Bill.
