Appointment of auditor-general
9 Appointment of auditor-general
(1) The auditor-general is to be appointed by the Governor in Council.
(2) A
person may be appointed as the auditor-general only if— (a) press
advertisements have been placed nationally calling for applications from
suitably qualified persons to be considered for appointment; and
(b) the
Minister has consulted with the parliamentary committee about— (i) the
process of selection for appointment; and
(ii) the appointment of the person
as the auditor-general.
