(1) An Act may be cited— (a) by its short title; or
(b) by reference to the
year in which it was passed and its number.

(2) A Commonwealth Act may be
cited— (a) by its short title; or
(b) in another way sufficient in a
Commonwealth Act for the citation of such an Act;
together with a reference to
the Commonwealth.
(3) An Act of another State or a Territory may be cited—
(a) by its short title; or
(b) in another way sufficient in an Act of the
State or Territory for the citation of such an Act;
together with a reference
to the State or Territory.
(4) A British Act may be cited— (a) by its short
title; or
(b) in another way sufficient in a British Act for the citation of
such an Act;
together with a reference to the United Kingdom or the term
‘UK’, ‘Imperial Act’ or ‘Imp’.
