Enforcement of orders for payment of amounts
286 Enforcement of orders for payment of amounts
(1) This section applies if the following are filed with the registrar of a
Magistrates Court— (a) a copy of an adjudicator’s order for the payment of
an amount, certified by the commissioner as a copy of the adjudicator’s
order;
(b) a sworn statement by the person in whose favour the order is made
stating the amount outstanding under the order.
(2) The registrar must
register the order in the court.
(3) The order may be enforced as if it were
a judgment of the court properly given in the exercise of its civil
jurisdiction.
(4) For this section, it is immaterial that the amount
outstanding is more than the amount for which an action may be brought in a
Magistrates Court.
