CRIME AND CORRUPTION ACT 2001 - SECT 182
Right to interpreter
182 Right to interpreter
(1) This section applies if the presiding officer at a commission hearing
reasonably suspects a witness is unable, because of inadequate knowledge of
the English language or a physical disability, to understand what is being
said or to speak with reasonable fluency in English.
(2) Before the witness
is questioned, the presiding officer must arrange for the presence of an
interpreter and delay the questioning until the interpreter is present.
