302A Meetings of parliamentary committee generally to be held in public
(1) A meeting of the parliamentary committee must be held in public.
(2)
However, the parliamentary committee may decide that a meeting or a part of a
meeting be held in private if the committee considers it is necessary to avoid
the disclosure of— (a) confidential information or information the
disclosure of which would be contrary to the public interest; or
(b)
information about a complaint about corrupt conduct dealt with, or being dealt
with, by the commission; or
(c) information about an investigation or
operation conducted, or being conducted, by the commission in the performance
of its crime function, corruption functions or intelligence function.
Note—
The standing rules and orders of the Legislative Assembly provide for who may
attend a public or private meeting of the committee—see standing order 207.
