CHILDRENS COURT ACT 1992 - SECT 26
Contempt
26 Contempt
(1) A judge has the same power to punish a person for contempt of the court as
the judge has to punish a person for contempt of the District Court.
(2) The
District Court of Queensland Act 1967 , section 129 applies in relation to the
Childrens Court when constituted by a judge in the same way as it applies in
relation to the District Court.
(3) In the performance of duties in relation
to the Childrens Court, a Childrens Court magistrate, a magistrate or justices
have the same power to punish for contempt as a magistrate has or justices
have, as the case may be, to punish for contempt of a Magistrates Court.
(4)
The Justices Act 1886 , section 40 applies in relation to the court when
constituted by a Childrens Court magistrate, a magistrate or justices in the
same way as it applies in relation to a Magistrates Court.
