23 Attendance of minor at exhibition of certain films—offence by other
persons
(1) A person who has reached 18 years must not— (a) cause or permit, or
attempt to cause or permit, a minor who— (i) has reached 2 years; and
(ii)
is in his or her care, custody and control;
to attend; or
(b) accompany and
assist, or attempt to accompany and assist, a minor who has reached 2 years to
attend;
the exhibition in a public place of a film classified as an R 18+ film
or an objectionable film. Penalty— Maximum penalty— (a) in the case
of a film classified as an R 18+ film—10 penalty units; or
(b) in the case
of an objectionable film—100 penalty units.
(2) A person does not commit
an offence against subsection (1) if the person believes on reasonable grounds
that the minor concerned has reached 18 years or has not reached 2 years.
