CONSTITUTION OF QUEENSLAND 2001 - SECT 22
No member to sit or vote without first taking oath or making affirmation
22 No member to sit or vote without first taking oath or making affirmation
(1) No member may sit or vote in the Legislative Assembly unless the member
has taken or made the oath or affirmation of allegiance and of office in
schedule 1 .
(2) The oath must be taken or the affirmation must be made in
the presence of the Governor or a person authorised by the Governor to
administer the oath or affirmation.
(3) A member
"takes" the member’s seat on taking the oath or making the affirmation.
