CONSTITUTION OF QUEENSLAND 2001 - SECT 59
Appointment of judges
59 Appointment of judges
(1) The Governor in Council, by commission, may appoint a barrister or
solicitor of the Supreme Court of at least 5 years standing as a judge.
(2) A
judge must, before entering on the duties of an office, take or make the oath
or affirmation of allegiance and of office in schedule 1 .
(3) The oath must
be taken or the affirmation made in the presence of the Governor or a person
authorised by the Governor to administer the oath or affirmation.
