CHILD PROTECTION ACT 1999 - SECT 136
Refusal of application
136 Refusal of application
(1) If the chief executive decides to refuse an application for, or to renew,
a certificate, the chief executive must give written notice of the decision to
the applicant.
(2) The notice must— (a) be given within 10 days after the
decision is made; and
(b) state the reasons for the decision; and
(c) unless
the application is refused because a person mentioned in section 135 (1) (a)
(iii) or (b)(iv) does not hold a working with children authority— (i) state
the applicant may apply to the tribunal to have the decision reviewed; and
(ii) state how, and the time within which, the applicant may apply to have the
decision reviewed; and
(iii) state any right the applicant has to have the
operation of the decisions stayed.
