DOMESTIC AND FAMILY VIOLENCE PROTECTION ACT 2012 - SECT 61
Contact by victim advocate not prohibited
(1) A condition mentioned in section 58 (d) or (e) that prohibits a respondent
from asking someone else to contact or to locate an aggrieved or named person
does not prohibit a victim advocate from contacting or locating the aggrieved
or named person if— (a) either of the following applies— (i) the purpose
of the victim advocate in contacting or locating the aggrieved or named person
is to seek the consent of the aggrieved or named person to the provision of
advocacy or support to the aggrieved or named person;
(ii) the aggrieved or
named person has consented to being contacted or located by a victim advocate;
and
(b) the victim advocate is not knowingly in direct contact with the
respondent; and
(c) the respondent is participating in an approved
intervention program provided by an approved provider.
(2) In this section—
"victim advocate" means a person engaged by an approved provider to provide
advocacy for, and support of, an aggrieved or named person.
