(1) This section applies if the principal of a State school proposes to exclude a student.
(2) The principal must give the student a notice in the approved form about the proposed exclusion and—(a) if the student is already suspended—tell the student that the suspension continues until the principal makes a final decision about the proposed exclusion; or(b) if the student is not already suspended—suspend the student until the principal makes a final decision about the proposed exclusion.
(3) The suspension starts when the principal tells the student about it.
