Change of name of registered corporation
63 Change of name of registered corporation
(1) A registered corporation shall notify the registrar in writing of any
change of its name as soon as practicable after such change is effected
according to law. Penalty— Maximum penalty—2 penalty units.
(2)
The notification shall be accompanied by a certified copy of the certificate
of the registration under the Corporations Act showing the change of name.
Penalty— Maximum penalty—2 penalty units.
(3) Upon— (a) receipt
of the notification and certified copy of certificate of the registration
under the Corporations Act showing the change of name; and
(b) the surrender
to the registrar of the certificate of registration issued to the registered
corporation in the former name to carry on funeral benefit business or, if
such certificate is not available for surrender, the furnishing to the
registrar of a statutory declaration of such unavailability and of the reason
for unavailability; and
(c) payment of the prescribed fee;
the registrar
shall issue to the registered corporation a certificate of registration in its
new name to carry on funeral benefit business.
