Council may remove chancellor, vice-chancellor or chairperson from office
40D Council may remove chancellor, vice-chancellor or chairperson from office
(1) The council may remove the chancellor, vice-chancellor or chairperson from
office if at least two-thirds of its members are satisfied the chancellor,
vice-chancellor or chairperson has not complied with— (a) section 26A (2) ;
or
(b) a conduct obligation.
(2) If the council decides to remove the
chancellor, vice-chancellor or chairperson from office under subsection (1) ,
the council must as soon as practicable give the chancellor, vice-chancellor
or chairperson notice of the decision and the reasons for it.
(3) The
chancellor’s, vice-chancellor’s or chairperson’s term of office ends on
the later of the following— (a) the day he or she receives the notice;
(b)
the day, if any, stated in the notice for that purpose.
