116C Requirements for registration
(1) The appointment of a person as an agent has no effect unless— (a) the
person is an adult; and
(b) the person has— (i) consented to the
appointment in writing; and
(ii) signed a declaration that the person is
eligible for appointment; and
(c) the electoral commission is given written
notice of the appointment that— (i) states the person’s name and address;
and
(ii) includes or is accompanied by the consent and declaration mentioned
in paragraph (b) ; and
(iii) for the appointment of an agent of a group of
candidates—is signed by each candidate who is a member of the group; and
(d) the person’s name is included in the register of agents.
(2) A person
is not eligible to be appointed, or to hold office, as an agent for this part
if the person has been convicted of an offence against section 43C (4) , this
part or part 9 , division 5 .
