Lawyer to give notice of foreign regulatory action
101 Lawyer to give notice of foreign regulatory action
(1) This section applies if a foreign regulatory action has been taken in
relation to a person.
(2) If the person is a local lawyer, as soon as
practicable (but not more than 7 days) after the person is given notice of the
action or otherwise becomes aware of it, the person must give the Brisbane
registrar written notice of the action taken. Penalty— Maximum
penalty—200 penalty units.
(3) If the person is a local legal
practitioner, as soon as practicable (but not more than 7 days) after the
person is given notice of the action or otherwise becomes aware of it, the
person must give the regulatory authority who granted or renewed the
practitioner’s local practising certificate written notice of the action
taken. Penalty— Maximum penalty—200 penalty units.
