Interstate legal practitioner becoming authorised to withdraw from local trust account
412 Interstate legal practitioner becoming authorised to withdraw from local
trust account
(1) This section applies to an interstate legal practitioner who, whether
alone or with a cosignatory, becomes authorised to withdraw money from a local
trust account.
(2) A regulation may do either or both of the following— (a)
require the practitioner to notify the law society of the authorisation;
(b)
require the practitioner to make contributions and pay levies to the fidelity
fund as if the practitioner were a local legal practitioner.
(3) Without
limiting subsection (2) , a regulation may provide for— (a) the way in which
the notice is to be given and the information or material that is to be
included in or to accompany the notice; and
(b) the amount of the
contributions, their frequency and the way in which they are to be made.
