PEACE AND GOOD BEHAVIOUR ACT 1982 - SECT 97
Protection from liability
97 Protection from liability
(1) A member of the police service does not
incur civil liability for an act done, or omission made, honestly and without
negligence under this Act.
(2) If subsection (1) prevents a civil liability
attaching to a member of the police service, the liability attaches instead to
the State.
(3) In this section—
"member of the police service" means a member of the police service under the
Police Service Administration Act 1990.
