72 When the director of a pathology laboratory must notify a pathological
diagnosis notifiable condition
(1) The director of a pathology laboratory must, under subsection (2) , unless
the director has a reasonable excuse, notify the chief executive if a
pathological examination of a specimen of human origin in the laboratory
indicates that the person from whom the specimen was taken has or had a
pathological diagnosis notifiable condition. Penalty— Maximum
penalty—20 penalty units.
(2) The notice must— (a) comply with the
requirements prescribed under a regulation; and
(b) include the name of the
doctor who referred the person’s specimen for pathological examination; and
(c) be in the approved form.
