Declaration of interests
185 Declaration of interests
(1) The chief executive of a department may direct a person employed in the
department to prepare and give the chief executive a statement about the
employee’s interests.
(2) The statement must include the information
required under a directive of the commission chief executive.
(3) Subsections
(4) and (5) apply if— (a) a change to the employee’s interests happens
after the giving of the statement; and
(b) the change is of a type prescribed
under a directive of the commission chief executive.
(4) The chief executive
may direct the employee to give the chief executive a revised version of the
statement.
(5) The revised version must— (a) be given as soon as possible
after the relevant facts about the change come to the employee’s knowledge;
and
(b) comply with subsection (2) .
(6) A direction under this section
may— (a) be given whenever the chief executive considers it necessary,
because of the employee’s duties and responsibilities; and
(b) require the
statement, or revised version, to be given— (i) to the chief executive or
someone nominated by the chief executive; or
(ii) within a stated period or
at stated intervals.
