POLICE SERVICE ADMINISTRATION ACT 1990 - SECT 10.21B
Unlawfully killing or injuring police dog or police horse
10.21B Unlawfully killing or injuring police dog or police horse
(1) A person must not unlawfully— (a) kill, maim, wound or otherwise injure
a police dog or police horse; or
(b) attempt to kill, maim, wound or
otherwise injure a police dog or police horse.
Penalty— Maximum
penalty—40 penalty units or 2 years imprisonment.
(2) A court that finds
a person guilty of an offence against subsection (1) may, in addition to any
penalty that may be imposed, order the person to pay to the commissioner a
reasonable amount for— (a) the treatment, care, rehabilitation and
retraining of the police dog or police horse concerned; or
(b) if it is
necessary to replace the police dog or police horse—buying and training its
replacement.
