RESIDENTIAL TENANCIES AND ROOMING ACCOMMODATION ACT 2008 - SECT 145
Receipt
145 Receipt
(1) A person receiving a rental bond must give a receipt for the rental bond
as required by this section. Penalty— Maximum penalty—10 penalty
units.
(2) The receipt must— (a) be given to the person paying the rental
bond when the rental bond is received; and
(b) be signed by the person
receiving the rental bond.
(3) The receipt must state the following— (a)
the name of the person receiving the rental bond;
(b) the name of the tenant
or resident;
(c) if the person receiving the rental bond is not the lessor or
provider—the name of the lessor or provider;
(d) the address of the
premises for which the rental bond is paid;
(e) the date the rental bond was
received;
(f) the amount of the rental bond;
(g) if there is more than 1
tenant or resident and they tell the person receiving the rental bond the
proportions in which the bond is paid—the amount paid by each tenant or
resident.
(4) The person giving the receipt must keep a copy of it for at
least 1 year after the agreement ends. Penalty— Maximum penalty—10
penalty units.
