RESIDENTIAL TENANCIES AND ROOMING ACCOMMODATION ACT 2008 - SECT 205

205 Tenant’s name and other details
(1) If the lessor or the lessor’s agent asks the tenant the tenant’s name
or place of employment, the tenant must not give a false name or place of
employment. Penalty— Maximum penalty—20 penalty units.
(2) When
handing over possession of the premises, the tenant must tell the lessor or
lessor’s agent the tenant’s new residential address, unless the tenant has
a reasonable excuse for not telling the lessor or agent the new address.
Penalty— Maximum penalty—20 penalty units.
(3) Subsection (2) —
(a) applies only if the lessor or lessor’s agent asks the tenant in writing
to state the new address; but
(b) does not apply to a tenant who, after
experiencing domestic violence, ended the residential tenancy agreement, or
the tenant’s interest in the residential tenancy agreement, under chapter 5
, part 1 , division 3 , subdivision 2A .
