TRANSPORT OPERATIONS (ROAD USE MANAGEMENT) ACT 1995 - SECT 24
Identity cards
24 Identity cards
(1) This section does not apply to an authorised officer who is a police
officer.
(2) The chief executive must give each authorised officer an
identity card.
(3) The identity card must— (a) contain a recent photo of
the person; and
(b) be signed by the person; and
(c) identify the person as
an authorised officer; and
(d) state an expiry date.
(4) A person who stops
being an authorised officer must return the person’s identity card to the
chief executive as soon as practicable (but within 21 days) after the person
stops being an authorised officer, unless the person has a reasonable excuse.
Penalty— Maximum penalty—20 penalty units.
(5) This section does
not prevent the giving of a single identity card to a person for this and
other Acts.
