TRANSPORT OPERATIONS (ROAD USE MANAGEMENT) ACT 1995 - SECT 69
Local government may install or remove official traffic signs
69 Local government may install or remove official traffic signs
(1) A local government may install an official traffic sign in its area— (a)
on a road that is not a declared road; or
(b) on a declared road, with the
chief executive’s written agreement; or
(c) on an off-street regulated
parking area.
(2) Under subsection (1) (b) , a local government may install
an official traffic sign that— (a) defines a traffic area; and
(b)
indicates that parking on declared roads within the traffic area is regulated.
(3) A local government may remove an official traffic sign installed by it.
(4) A local government may install or remove an official traffic sign that
will result in a change to the management of a local government road, of a
kind mentioned in the Transport Planning and Coordination Act 1994 , section
8D (1) , only if the chief executive has approved the proposed change under
the Transport Planning and Coordination Act 1994 , section 8D .
