TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER LAND ACT 1991 - SECT 156A
Land trust may appoint member
156A Land trust may appoint member
(1) A land trust may, by resolution, appoint a person to be a member of the
land trust.
(2) A land trust must not appoint a person under subsection (1)
— (a) without the person’s consent; or
(b) if the person has been removed
as a member of any land trust by the Minister under this division.
(3) A
person appointed as a member of a land trust under this section becomes a
member on— (a) the day the resolution appointing the person as a member is
made; or
(b) a later day stated in the resolution.
(4) A land trust must
record its decision to appoint a person as a member of the land trust in the
minutes of the meeting at which the person was appointed.
