Renewal of licence
9 Renewal of licence
(1) The holder of a licence may apply to the chief executive to renew the
licence.
(2) The application must— (a) be made as prescribed by regulation;
and
(b) be accompanied by the fee prescribed by regulation.
(3) The chief
executive may renew the licence if satisfied the holder of the licence
continues to be an appropriate person to hold the licence.
(4) For deciding
whether the holder of the licence continues to be an appropriate person to
hold the licence, the chief executive must have regard to any report given to
the chief executive by the police commissioner under section 36 about— (a)
the holder; or
(b) if the holder is a corporation—any of the holder’s
executive officers.
(5) A licence renewed under this section— (a) starts on
the day the renewal is granted; and
(b) is granted for a term of not more
than 5 years; and
(c) must state the expiry date for the licence.
