WORKERS' COMPENSATION AND REHABILITATION ACT 2003 - SECT 22
Students
22 Students
(1) WorkCover may enter into— (a) a contract of insurance for this
subdivision with the authority through which is administered the
Education (Work Experience) Act 1996 in relation to a State student; or
(b) a
contract of insurance for this subdivision with the person having control of a
non-State school in relation to a student enrolled at the school who is 14 or
over; or
(c) a contract of insurance for this subdivision with a
registered training organisation attended by a vocational placement student.
(2) The contract may cover the student for injury arising out of, or in the
course of, work experience or vocational placement as provided under a
regulation but must not cover a student for damages.
(3) The student has the
entitlement to compensation for injury that is provided under a regulation.
(4) In this section—
"non-State school" means an accredited school under the
Education (Accreditation of Non-State Schools) Act 2017 .
"registered training organisation" see the
National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011 (Cwlth) ,
section 3 .
"State student" means a student defined in the
Education (Work Experience) Act 1996 , dictionary.
