(1) This section applies if—(a) a law practice is retained by a claimant to act in relation to the claimant’s claim for damages; and(b) either—(i) the claimant or the insurer accepts an offer, or counter offer, of settlement; or(ii) judgment is given on the claim.
(2) The supervising principal of the law practice in relation to the claim for damages must—(a) complete a law practice certificate for the claim; and(b) give the certificate to the insurer and a copy of the certificate to the claimant within 7 days after the acceptance or judgment.Penalty—Maximum penalty—300 penalty units.
